So our adventure is underway. We have sorted and I have made many many more trips to the tip and listed so much of my junk for sale on various internet selling websites! But now comes the really fun part, redesigning how we will live, as we move from a townhouse to a open plan apartment.
I have been thinking about how the space will work for Meemoo and Pook. They are going to be sharing a room for the first time and I am keen to ensure that they get to keep their own identities in a shared space, while making sure there is plenty of room to play and a snug place to sleep. I have been exploring lots of the ideas on a new, well to me, online home design platform. It is a space for designers and business to post photos, plus an online magazine. The great thing is that you can use the images to create an ideabooks working like an online mood board. You can also search through professionals ideabooks, a sneaky peek at their creative ideas. I used it to search for children’s bedroom ideas. There are lots of wonderful and inspiring ideas.
As we will be renting the bed is going to be the main piece of furniture I can use to add colour and style to the bedroom. I like the idea of bunk beds. Here are my top 5 favourite ideas featured on Homify.
It is so cute but lacking in storage. With this in mind and being mindful that we will need some decent storage I am favouring a twist on a more traditional bunk bed.
I like how one is not completely above the other. It is shared space while at the same time giving both Meemoo and Pook the opportunity to add their own personalities within their separate bed spaces.
This has to be the ultimate version of a bunk bed. It even has its own set of stairs. Sorry Meemoo and Pook , Mummy wants this for herself!
