There are many different, similar and varying recipes for playdough as there are wonderful blogs. However this is my tried and tested, many times over. playdough recipe that I have been using since I was teaching. This will make enough basic white dough to keep a toddler happy. The possibilities of what you can add to dough is endless. It keeps well wrapped up in cling film either in a cool cupboard or the fridge.
1 cup Plain Flour
1/2 cup salt
pinch of cream of tartar
glug of oil (I tend to use vegetable oil)
2 cups of boiling water.
Add all the dry ingredients and the oil to a large mixing bowl. I now also add any colouring or flavourings at this point. Add the 2 cups of boiling water and mix until it comes together to form a dough.
